China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA) was established in September 1988. The membership of CFNA has exceeded 6900 companies, among which 48 are members of the executive standing committee and 149 are members of the executive committee. Its membership, covering all parts of China, is composed of the largest and most representative companies and a large number of small and medium sized enterprises. Zhejiang Institute of Standardization (ZIS) formerly known as Zhejiang Province Quality and Technical Supervision Information Institute is created under the Zhejiang Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision. ZIS specializes in standardization research and related information and technical service, including release of Chinese technical documents and translation of oversea technical barriers to trade (TBT) regulations and rules, review of provincial technical standards in Zhejiang China and carrying out related research projects, notification and alert studies.
The safety evaluation centre of SYRICI, hereafter referred as the Centre, was built up in 1982 under a cooperative program supported by the former Ministry of Chemical Industry, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and United Nations Industry Development Organization (UNIDP). The Centre mainly works on the safety evaluation research of medicines, pesticide and fine chemicals. The Centre has been approved successively as “Quality supervision and inspection centre for pesticide safety evaluation of chemical industry” by Ministry of Chemical Industry and “National safety evaluation research centre of new drug(Shenyang)” by Ministry of Science and Technology. In May 2004, it also became “New drug safety evaluation research centre of Liaoning” and “New drug safety evaluation research key laboratory of Liaoning” by Liaoning provincial science and technology department.
